This policy provides the criteria and procedures for awarding salary increases to full-time faculty and unclassified staff who earn academic credentials that support their work and the mission of McNeese State University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To recognize educational achievements, full-time faculty will receive a $2,000 base salary increase upon earning an initial doctorate degree. The increase is not retroactive, unless specified in the appointment letter, but becomes effective at the beginning of the fall or spring semester following that in which the credential was conferred. To initiate the advanced study pay increase for obtaining the doctorate degree, the faculty member\u2019s department head should send a memo and an official transcript indicating the degree was conferred to the dean requesting an advanced study pay increase. The dean will forward the request to the provost and vice president for academic affairs, who will forward the request to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) for approval and recording in ELT minutes. All salary increases must be approved by the\u00a0University of Louisiana (UL) System Board of Supervisors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The increase is not retroactive and becomes effective on the date indicated in ELT minutes. To initiate the advanced study pay increase, the staff member\u2019s supervisor should send a memo requesting the increase, along with an official transcript indicating the degree was conferred, to the appropriate vice president. The vice president will forward the request to the ELT for approval and recording in ELT minutes. All salary increases must be approved by the UL System Board of Supervisors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
