Appointments can be made by calling 337-475-5136. Please let the front desk staff know that you situation is urgent, and we will arrange for a counselor to meet with you as soon as possible.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>McNeese is committed to protecting the rights of victims of sexual assault, stalking, intimate partner violence, and other sexual violence, regardless of whether a victim decides to pursue an investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> There are multiple ways to report that can be pursued separately or simultaneously and prioritize victim&#8217;s privacy and needs when seeking accommodations, health services and legal action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"display-4 wp-block-heading\"><strong>I want to make a report, and I want to pursue legal action<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>You may report to McNeese faculty and staff. Many and staff on campus are considered <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcneese.edu\/police\/clery-act\/campus-security-authority\/\">mandated reporters (CSA\u2019s)<\/a> under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcneese.edu\/police\/clery-act\/\">CLERY Act<\/a> standards, and therefore are required to report any instances of sexual assault, stalking, intimate partner violence, or other sexual violence to University Police and the Title IX Coordinator.<\/li><li>You can make a report to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcneese.edu\/titleix\/\">Title IX Coordinator<\/a> on campus. The Title IX Coordinator will conduct an investigation regardless of whether or not the incident is reported to police.<\/li><li>You may choose to report the incident to the police. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcneese.edu\/police\/\">University Police<\/a> can be contacted at 337-475-5711.<\/li><li>If the offense was committed by another student, you may choose to pursue action through the campus judicial system. The Title IX Coordinator will conduct an investigation regardless of whether or not the incident is reported to police.<\/li><li>You may make a report through a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcneese.edu\/police\/sexual-assault-confidential-advisers\/\">confidential advisor,<\/a> who is not obligated to report crimes to the institution or law enforcement in a way that identifies an alleged victim or an accused individual, unless otherwise required to do so by law.<\/li><li>You may seek assistance through the on-campus <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcneese.edu\/counseling\">Counseling Center<\/a>. Incidents reported to the Counseling Center will remain <strong>completely confidential<\/strong>. Mental health counselors on campus are considered exempt from mandatory reporting under CLERY standards.<\/li><li>&nbsp;If you are uncomfortable with speaking with a person, you can report anonymously using two reporting options:<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcneese.edu\/police\/silent-witness-form\">McNeese Police Silent Witness Form<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mcneese.edu\/studentlife\/form\/report\">Inappropriate Activity Reporting Form<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note that all resources are available to all victims of sexual assault, stalking, rape or other intimate partner violence.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Persons who have been involved in incidences of sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking, or harassment can seek out confidential help from the Counseling Center.
