{"id":16785,"date":"2025-08-23T10:28:07","date_gmt":"2025-08-23T15:28:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mcneese.edu\/performingarts\/?post_type=faculty_staff&#038;p=16785"},"modified":"2025-08-23T10:35:33","modified_gmt":"2025-08-23T15:35:33","slug":"dr-katrina-clements","status":"publish","type":"faculty_staff","link":"https:\/\/www.mcneese.edu\/performingarts\/directory\/dr-katrina-clements\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr. Katrina Clements"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Dr.&nbsp;Katrina&nbsp;Clements&nbsp;is Visiting Assistant Professor of Music &#8211; Woodwinds at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana where she teaches applied clarinet and saxophone.&nbsp;Clements&nbsp;performs with the Lake Charles Symphony Orchestra and the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra, and teaches on faculty at the Minnesota Clarinet Academy and the International Music Camp during the summer. Prior to her appointment at McNeese, she was the Assistant Professor of Woodwinds at Valley City State University in North Dakota.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a proponent of creative collaborations across art disciplines, her current work focuses on commissioning and performing new pieces for clarinet and multimedia that include visuals to create deeper sensory experiences for audiences. She also performs as a founding member of the \u2018Vive Ensemble, clarinet and trumpet duo. Recent performances, premieres, and lectures include the International ClarinetFest\u00ae in Dublin, the Low Clarinet Festival in Arizona, the International Duo Symposium, the College Music Society Regional Conferences, Oh My Ears New Music Festival, and presentations for studios across the US.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico,&nbsp;Clements&nbsp;holds a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from Arizona State University, a Master\u2019s of Music from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor\u2019s of Music Education from the University of New Mexico.
