McNeese's KBYS Hosts School of Rock Program

McNeese State University’s radio station KBYS 88.3 FM offers a popular weekly rock ‘n’ roll program called “School of Rock” at 11 a.m. on Saturdays.

The weekly radio show - hosted by Dr. Ray Miles, McNeese history professor and director of the Doré School of Graduate Studies, and Dr. Jeff Lemke, professor of music is focused on bringing music appreciation and education to a wide audience.

Miles stresses that the show is meant to be both informative and fun. “We both love what is broadly called rock n’ roll music, but we approach it from different directions,” he says. “If you understand the question ‘Beatles or Rolling Stones?’ then I am Rolling Stones and Dr. Lemke is Beatles!”

Repeat broadcasts of the show are available at 4 p.m. on Sundays and 11 p.m. on Wednesdays. Visit for this broadcast and other scheduled programming.
