A native of the French Caribbean, he specializes in the history of the Haitian Revolution. His most recent books are &#8220;A Day in Colonial Haiti&#8221; (2024) and &#8220;Toussaint Louverture: A Revolutionary Life\u00a0&#8221; (2016).
