Biographical Info

Charles McNeely begins his 23rd year with the McNeese Theatre Program. Mr. Mac, as his students call him, received a B.A. in Theatre Arts from McNeese and a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of New Orleans. Mr. Mac is currently our Coordinator of Theatre and teaches all courses offered in the program. Mr. Mac served as State Chair from the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival from 2003-2005 and continues to support the festival by participating in the regional festival each year. In 2010, Mr. Mac created a live theatre documentary production entitled Our Hurricane Kaleidoscope that shared the stories and comments of people who experienced hurricanes Audrey, Katrina and Rita. He recently created the McNeese Theatre Understanding the Misunderstood Program. Each season, McNeese Theatre will create an original devised theatre piece that focuses on bringing understanding to the misunderstood. Such topics as Adolescence and Autism/Asperger’s will be explored. When not working, Mr. Mac treasures his time with his wife and two daughters.
