About the course
Basic 40 hour course required to become licensed as a Private Investigator in Louisiana. Course teaches basic investigative skills and methods used in the course of conducting private investigations. Topics of discussion include state and federal laws pertaining to private investigators, undercover investigations, surveillance techniques, interview and statement taking methods, process serving, computer database and court records research, locating witnesses and missing-persons, and courtroom testimony. Course participants are required to take and pass the state exam which is given on the last day of the course before applying for state license. Textbook included in course.
**You will need to pay the $50 for your exam by check or money order by Monday, February 25, 2019. The exam will take place that day.
About the InstructorRobert "Jerry" DeFatta, CFE, BAI, CRT . Jerry has over twenty years of experience as a professional investigator, who has been licensed as a private investigator since 1997. He is a Certified Fraud Examiner and Board Accredited Investigator who has been conducting professional investigations for two decades. He is also certified in the Reid Technique of Interview and Interrogation and specializes in interviewing witnesses, suspects and victims. Jerry is the owner of DeFatta & Associates, LLC, a general private investigative firm who offers professional investigations to client’s throughout Louisiana and in other areas. He is an experienced instructor and presenter who has provided professional training courses related to the field of investigations since 2001.
