McNeese State University invites qualified applicants and nominations for the position of Assistant Professor of Management in the Department of Management, Marketing, and Business Administration. This is a full-time, 9-month, unclassified, tenure-track position. The appointment begins in August 2019.
Teaching opportunities for Spring 2019 may be available.
Position Description and Responsibilities:
As an Assistant Professor of Management, the appointee will be responsible for fulfilling teaching, research, and service responsibilities as a member of McNeese’s AACSB-accredited College of Business, which offers an MBA and B.S. degrees in accounting, finance, management, marketing, and general business.
The candidate must have a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in management from an AACSB-accredited institution, and must possess “scholarly academic” credentials as per AACSB standards. The position requires teaching different management courses likely including both foundation-level courses (e.g. Principles of Management) and junior/senior-level courses (e.g. Strategic Management). Preference will be given to applicants who are flexible as to teaching and research interests. The position appointee must generate intellectual contributions to keep current in his/her field and to comply with the College’s criteria on academic qualifications for AACSB accreditation purposes. In addition, the appointee will advise students, and perform appropriate departmental, college, university, and community service.
ABD candidates may be considered if the degree completion date is on or near the date of employment. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a commitment to high-quality teaching and intellectual contributions as well as exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
