There are many questions concerning campus operations. We are creating a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section on the McNeese Emergency Communications webpage at www.mcneese.edu/emergency You are encouraged to check this site often to find the latest information about campus operations and see guidance that we have received from local, state and national agencies.

Effective immediately, it is imperative all faculty, staff and students frequently check their McNeese email account. Updates to campus operations, scheduled events and other information will first be sent via McNeese email then posted on the website.

Face-to-face classes will be held as scheduled on Monday, March 16 and Tuesday, March 17. Classes will transition to remote delivery on March 18.

Is McNeese Closed?

No, the campus will remain open under modified operations. Classes are not cancelled.

What does “modified operations” mean?

University offices are open regular hours (Monday-Thursday from 7:30 am-5 pm, and Fridays from 7:30-11:30 am). Residence halls remain open, the Holbrook Computer Lab, Frazar Memorial Library, Student Health Center, Bookstore, Counseling Center, Rec Complex and Rowdy’s Cafeteria and other campus operations will continue normal operating hours. Hours of operation for some food venues may change. Any changes will be announced via McNeese email and posted on the McNeese Emergency Communications webpage.

Why are we doing this?

This is a temporary situation, and this decision was made out of an abundance of caution. The health and safety of our faculty, staff and students are our primary concern. We will continue to closely monitor the evolving coronavirus situation and make adjustments as needed. We will return the campus to normal operations as soon as possible.

Are faculty and staff coming to work?

Yes, employees should plan to work normal hours unless they have a developed a modified work schedule approved by their dean or supervisor.

More information and details about specific events, activities and campus operations will be sent as that information becomes available.
