It is very important to pay close attention to local and national weather updates for the next few days. Tropical Storm Beta is in the Gulf of Mexico and it will move slowly over the weekend toward the middle Texas coast. The National Weather Service expects this storm to bring heavy rain to our area over the next few days.

A tropical storm warning is in effect for Cameron Parish. Occasional wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph are expected tomorrow, especially near the coast.

Flooding from heavy rain is likely across most of our region. Five to fifteen inches of rain with locally higher amounts is expected. The timing of the heaviest rain is Sunday through Wednesday.
