Free COVID testing and vaccines are available for McNeese students, faculty and staff in the Old Ranch where the computer lab was located. The Louisiana National Guard is conducting the testing and vaccinations. Hours are 7:30am-1:45pm Monday-Friday and you will need your McNeese student or employee ID. The test collected is a PCR test and results will be emailed to you within 24-48 hours. Tests administered before 12:30pm may have results available the same day.
Both Johnson & Johnson and Moderna vaccines are available and anyone getting their first shot will qualify for a $100 VISA card offered by the Louisiana Department of Health.
Free booster shots are also available for qualifying individuals who are 65 years and older, OR age 18 and over who have underlying medical conditions; OR age 18 and over who work or live in high-risk settings; OR age 18 and over who live in long-term care settings.
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends booster shots for qualifying individuals who are fully vaccinated with the Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson and Johnson vaccines.
The CDC’s recommendation allows eligible individuals to choose which vaccine they receive as a booster dose. You may elect to receive the booster shot from the initial vaccine or choose to get a different vaccine for the booster.
To receive a booster shot, you will need to bring a state issued ID (ex. driver’s license) and your COVID immunization card or a copy of the card.
Please check this page often for more information on upcoming COVID vaccination clinics.
All faculty, staff and students are encouraged to receive the COVID-19 vaccination.
