Due to ongoing issues with extremely low water pressure in Lake Charles and throughout southwest Louisiana, the McNeese State University campus will be closed on Monday, Feb. 22, and course instruction will be delivered in the online format on Monday and Tuesday (Feb. 23). Ample water pressure is needed for campus restroom facilities to operate properly and to maintain the boiler units that provide heat to many buildings.

Employees and students should closely monitor their McNeese email, the website and watch for text message for updates.

If water pressure returns over the weekend and is stable on Monday, campus offices will reopen on Tuesday. Some employees will be notified by their supervisor to report to work on Monday to perform critical operational functions. Other employees should contact their supervisor if they must be on campus for any reason on Monday.

Students and faculty are advised that there are still reports of power and Internet service interruptions throughout the state. Faculty will contact students about changes in course assignments or exams.
