Kaufman Hall closed temporarily

Kaufman Hall closed temporarily

(September 20, 2013) UPDATE: Kaufman Hall will remain closed until further notice, and all classes scheduled in Kaufman have been relocated to other buildings. All of the class changes are posted in the Online Class Schedule. Students should contact their instructors for any additional information concerning assignments or temporary faculty office locations.

Please avoid Kaufman Hall during this time. Contractors are working to bring the building back on line as soon as possible. There is no damage to the main floors of the building. A cracked pipe allowed thousands of gallons of water to flood the basement of the building where all of the electrical and mechanical system components are located. Chilled air is being pushed through the building but the electricity is off.

Temporary office locations include the Counseling Center to the University Services Office near the Post Office, Scholarships Office to Career Services, International Student Affairs and Enrollment Management to Frasch 308, General and Basic Studies and Testing to the first floor of Farrar Hall and the College of Liberal Arts Dean and departmental offices to Frasch Hall.

(September 19, 2013) UPDATE: Because of excessive water damage to equipment in Kaufman Hall, the building will remain temporarily closed until further notice. We are working to provide a list of alternate classrooms for Kaufman classes and should announce that tomorrow (Friday, September 20). In the meantime, if you normally have classes in Kaufman, stay in contact with your instructors through Moodle and Email for instructions and/or assignments.

(September 17, 2013) Kaufman Hall is temporarily closed due to a water leak in the basement of the building. Please avoid the area if possible as maintenance crews are working to remove the water and repair the water line.

Instruction is being delivered online through Moodle and students should contact their faculty members for additional instructions.

Offices have been temporarily relocated: Counseling Center to the Holbrook Student Center near the Post Office
(475-5266). Scholarships Office to Career Services (475-5611).

International Student Affairs to the Admissions and Recruiting Office (475-5384).

General and Basic Studies advisors to the first floor of Farrar Hall.

College of Liberal Arts Dean's Office and departmental offices are in Frasch Hall.

The building will be closed through Thursday, Sept. 19 and updates on the status of the building will be posted to McNeese email, Facebook and the portal.

For additional assistance, please call the McNeese Switchboard at 475-5000 or the Public Relations Office at 475-5635.

Thank you for your patience as we work to repair and reopen Kaufman Hall as quickly as possible.
