Rankings were created using the National Center for Education Statistics' College Navigator database and based on criteria including graduation rate and general tuition costs.

On its website, College Values Online says “its mission is to provide assistance in selecting the best college for each individual situation by offering rankings of schools and various degree programs, in addition to information on numerous career options from a value perspective.”

College Values Online has also nationally ranked McNeese’s online baccalaureate psychology degree program at No. 15 and its online baccalaureate criminal justice degree program at No. 25  - both in its Top 30 best value school rankings.

McNeese’s three programs were noted for offering an accelerated online format that gives students the flexibility to access course information and assignments when and where they choose.
