The top five oral presentations and the top five poster presenters have been selected from among 24 students who participated in the 7th Annual Undergraduate Scholar Research program at McNeese State University.

These McNeese students will now participate in the statewide Academic Summit April 19-20 being hosted by the University of Louisiana System on the McNeese campus. Students, faculty and staff from the nine universities in the UL System will attend this event that will include an entire day focused on undergraduate research.

The Undergraduate Scholar Research program is sponsored by the McNeese Alumni Association as a way of promoting research and scholarly activity by undergraduate students, with the support and guidance of faculty mentors.

The oral presentation winners are: Sonia Adtani and Pratik Koirala, both from Lake Charles, physics; Lane E. Blocker, DeQuincy, engineering; Catherine B. David, Church Point, social sciences; Heather Nordberg and Jennifer Veillon, both from Westlake, agricultural sciences; and Shreedu Pradhan and Anjela Manandhar, both from Lake Charles, chemistry.

The poster presentation winners are: Sonja R. Davis, Lake Charles, history; Jesse Freeman, Vidor, Texas, mass communication; Taylor Hood, Lake Charles, chemistry, Caitlin Richard, Lake Charles, biology and health sciences; and Cari Samletzka, St. Cloud, Fla., biology and health sciences.
Honorable mention winners are Jessica N. Hargrave, Lafayette, agricultural sciences, and Lauren N. Lewis, Lake Charles, health and human performance.

Other students recognized are: Olanrewaju Kwam Adiro, Nigeria, engineering; Ervin Cutright II, Labadieville, engineering; Jared Matthew Fusilier, Eunice, engineering; Rachel Key, Ft. Worth, Texas, mass communication; Lauren Nicole Lewis, Lake Charles, health and human performance; Ginger Robertson, Lake Charles, and Rebecca Edwards, Moss Bluff, nursing; Anne Louise Robicheaux, Jennings, mass communication; and Erik Justin Sneddon, Lake Charles chemistry.
