Nesanovich, professor emerita of English at McNeese, is an accomplished poet. She was a recipient of an artist fellowship from the Louisiana Division of the Arts and has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. She has published a full-length collection of poetry, "Vespers at Mount Angel: Poems," as well as four chapbooks, including "A Brightness That Made My Heart Tremble: Poems on the Life of Hildegard of Bingen," "My Mother's Breath," "My Father's Voice" and "Dance, O Heart, Double Round: Poems on Mechthild of Magdeburg."
Her poetry has appeared in many journals, magazines and anthologies, including "Uncommonplace: An Anthology of Contemporary Louisiana Poets," "Hurricane Blues: Poems About Katrina and Rita," "Shadow and Light: A Literary Anthology on Memory" and the "Southern Poetry Anthology IV: Louisiana."
