Free, Non-Invasive Carotid Screening for McNeese Employees (Appointment required)   There are often no symptoms of carotid artery disease until a person has a TIA or stroke.  That's why it is important to see your doctor regularly for physical exams and to also have wellness screenings done regularly. Risk factors for carotid artery disease include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, older age, smoking, insulin resistance, diabetes, being overweight, lack of physical activity, unhealthy diet, and a family history of heart or carotid disease.  If you have some of the risk factors mentioned, you may benefit from this screening.  The screening will consist of a medical history and a physical exam by listening to your carotid artery with a stethoscope.  Appointments are required for the screening.  Contact Kelly Darbonne by June 12th (475-5277) to schedule your appointment. Appointments are limited! La Jeunesse Room (Old Ranch)
