Spring exercise classes are starting!  Schedules will be posted in the Rec Complex  or can be found at www.mcneese.edu/wellness.  Spring fitness classes will start on January 17th.  Check the class schedule on our website for all class times and start dates.  Class include: Yoga, Dance Fit, Fitness Express, Cowboy Core, Power Sculpt, & Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.  Classes held during lunch time (11am-1pm) are free for McNeese employees.  There is no charge for McNeese students to attend the classes.  Would you like to teach exercise classes for the Rec?  If you have a fitness certification or experience teaching, contact Kelly Darbonne at 475-5277. Rec Complex--Check the exercise class schedule for exact locations in the Rec.

Register for the ReNew Year Wellness Challenge! Did the holidays leave you feeling weighed down, stressed out, and fatigued?  Recharge your mind & body this New Year with the ReNew Year Wellness Challenge!  This 6 week challenge will focus on eating for energy, stress reduction, & restorative exercise to leave you feeling your best.  Receive weekly newsletters & wellness tips.  Participants completing the challenge will go into a drawing for prizes.  Challenge runs February 6th-March 19th.  Open to all McNeese employees and students. Register in the Wellness Program Office     (Rec 212) or by sending an email to wellness@mcneese.edu during the registration dates.

What you eat & how you eat can affect your energy levels and your stress levels.   Learn strategies to keep you feeling your best from registered dietitian, Kristie Evans, with Christus St. Patrick Hospital.  Open to all McNeese employees and students. La Jeunesse Room (Old Ranch)
 
Year Round Free 1:1 Health & Wellness Consultations Want to get back on track with your health & wellness goals?  Schedule a consultation with our workplace wellness team: Kelly Darbonne (Certified Health Educator & Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist) or Teresa Goree (Registered Nurse & Certified Diabetes Educator).  Wellness consultations with Kelly can include a personalized fitness plan, weight management, nutrition guidance, and goal setting.
Health consultations with Teresa can include education to better understand your health conditions, blood pressure management, glucose control, cholesterol mangagement, & help getting established with a physician.  Health consultations with Teresa are only available to McNeese employees.

Year Round Smoking Cessation Program A Smoking Cessation Program is available to McNeese employees, their famililes, and students through the Lousiana Smoking Cessation Trust. The program is administered by Imperial Health Smoking Treatment Center.  The program is FREE to those who started smoking before September 1, 1988 and are currently a Louisiana resident.  There is a payment plan for those that don't meet requirements or insurance doesn't cover the cost.  The program includes office visits, a personalized plan to quit smoking, smoking cessation medications if needed, support and counseling. The Louisiana Tobacco Quitline offers FREE, confidential phone counseling with Certified Quit Coaches.  There is a new "web only" option for support.  Learn more and enroll online at www.QuitWithUsLA.org or call 1-800-QUIT-NOW.
   
Spring 2017 Wellness to Go Program Our Wellness Program will be on the move this spring.  Get your blood pressure checked, pick up wellness information, & get healthy recipes. Locations to be announced soon!  Contact Kelly if you'd like to bring the Wellness Program to your department.
