Spring exercise classes are starting!  Schedules will be posted in the Rec Complex  or can be found at www.mcneese.edu/wellness. The Spring fitness classes will start on January 19th.  Check the class schedule on our website for Spring class times and start dates.  Class include: Yoga, Fitness Express, Power Sculpt, Boot Camp, Core Fit, Cardio Kickboxing & Loosen Up.  Classes held during lunch time (11am-1pm) are free for McNeese employees.  There is no charge for McNeese students to attend the classes. Rec Complex--Check the exercise class schedule for exact locations in the Rec.

Register for the JumpStart Wellness Challenge! Jumpstart your wellness goals for 2016! This challenge will help you get back on track (or stay on track) with your healthy habits for the New Year.  Choose to participate in the weight loss track or the wellness track.  Earn points for completing daily goals like eating well, exercising, drinking water, and managing stress.  Parcipants will also receive weekly newsletters, recipes, wellness tips, & workouts to help "jumpstart" your wellness goals.    Program runs February 15th-April 17th.  Open to all McNeese employees and students. Register in the Wellness Program Office  (Rec 212) or by sending an email to spc-kdarbonne@mcneese.edu
2/15/2016 JumpStart Wellness Challenge Begins! Challenge participants start earning your points today!  This challenge runs 9 weeks and ends on April 17th.

JumpStart Nutrition Guide Health Talk Kristie Evans, CHRISTUS St. Patrick registered dietician, will be here to give tips on how to "JumpStart" your nutrition goals for the new year!   Learn what types of food to include in your day to leave you feeling energized and living well.  She will also touch on nutrition and weight loss.  This health talk is open to all McNeese employees and students. Free Smoking Cessation Program Seminar
(Free if participants meet the program requirements)
 A Smoking Cessation Program will be offered to McNeese employees & students through the Louisiana Smoking Cessation Trust.  Dr. Corey Foster, a local cardiologist, is a local provider for the program.  He will be here to discuss the program on February 23rd.  The program will provide coaching, counseling, and smoking cessation medications at no cost (in needed)--if participants meet program requirements.  This smoking cessation program is also open to your spouse, partner, and family members. La Jeunesse Room (Old Ranch)

Heart Smart Lunch & Learn for McNeese employees! During this Heart Smart lunch & learn, find out how you can predict your 10 year risk of a heart attack in minutes.  Participants will also assess their heart risk, learn habits to lower their risk of heart disease, and can get their blood pressure checked. Also pick up info about heart smart eating and grocery shopping.  Lunch will be provided.  Space is limited.  Participants will need to pre-register before March 4th by calling 475-5277. Register for the "40 Miles in 4 Weeks"
Walking Challenge!
The McNeese Wellness Program will once again offer the "40 Miles in 4 Weeks" walking challenge.  This is a great way to stay motivated to keep up your activity levels.  Track your miles exercised each week and try to earn 40 miles or more in 4 weeks!  Receive weekly wellness & exercise tips.  The program runs April 4th- May 1st.  Open to all McNeese employees and students. Register in the Wellness Office

Spring 2016 Wellness to Go Program Our Wellness Program will be on the move this spring.  Get your blood pressure checked, pick up wellness information, & get healthy recipes. Locations to be announced soon!  Contact Kelly if you'd like to bring the Wellness Program to your department.
