Class Descriptions

Yoga (Starts 8/21)

A class that will help you to increase flexibility, cope with stress and learn basic meditation techniques. All fitness levels are welcome!
Instructor: Dr. Elizabeth Hait.
Held in the Aerobics room.

Fitness Express (Starts 8/28)

Get fit in less time! This 30 minute class will provide a strength and cardio workout. This class will be done in a circuit format which involves moving from one exercise to another, each exercise working a different muscle group to achieve a full body workout. It will include cardio stations and strength training stations using bodywieght, resistance bands, medicine balls and dumbbells. Suitable for any fitness level.
Instructor: Kelly Darbonne.
Held on the Rec's track.

Water Fitness (Starts 8/22)

This class will increase flexibility, tone muscles, and provide aerobic benefits.  The format of the class includes stretching, walking, and other locomotor skills, the use of kickboards and fins, and jug activities.

Held in the Rec's pool.

Geaux Core (Starts 8/22)
This class is all about the core!  A stronger core makes you better at all things you do, from everyday life to your favorite sports--it's the glue that holds your body together.  Some of the moves in Geaux Core are challenging, but adaptable to all fitness levels.  Get ready to fire up your abs, lower back, and glutes to build a more powerful body.

Body Sculpt (Starts 8/28)
Sculpt and tone your body using a variety of exercises and equipment like dumbbells and resistance bands.  Suitable for any fitness level. 
Instructor:  Alex Davis
Held in the Rec's aerobics room.

Dance Fit (Starts 8/22)
Have fun moving to music and improving your fitness with this cardio class.  Get your heart rate up dancing to different styles of music.  Great for any fitness level.

**Classes that are held at lunch time (11:30am-1pm) are free for employees to attend. Employess that attend classes that are after 1pm require a Rec membership. Students pay a Rec fee in their tuition, so there are no additional charges to attend the exercise classes on the fitness schedule.**
