Two McNeese State University exhibitions - the Annual Faculty Exhibition and Emerging Artists and Their Mentors - will have a closing reception from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, in McNeese's Grand and Abercrombie Galleries respectively. Both exhibits are currently on display and the free reception coincides with the citywide Annual Gallery Promenade 2011.

The Annual Faculty Exhibition features 45 recent works by visual arts faculty members including Robbie Austin, Cynthia Howes-Baskin, Ken Baskin, Martin Bee, Meghan Fleming, Amanda Hext, Teresa Johnson, Heather Ryan Kelley, Lisa Reinauer, Lynn Reynolds, Larry Schuh, Lewis Temple and Gerry Wubben. The works presented will include ceramics, drawing, graphic design, illustration, printmaking, painting, photography and mixed media.

The Emerging Artists and Their Mentors Exhibition features faculty members and their students past and present. Students featured in the show are: Marielle Myers, Lake Charles; Marcus Watson, New Orleans; Aleisha Cox, Vinton; Ashley Royer, Westlake; Robin Stoddard, Lake Charles; Meaghan Green, Sulphur; Whitney Smith LeBlanc, Lake Charles; Leigha LaCombe, Evangeline; Devin Morgan, Lake Charles; Mary Thompson, Lake Charles; Lisa Myers, Lake Charles; Jacob Dugas, Lake Charles; Mary Donaldson, Kinder, Erin Casteel, Sulphur; Chelsea Semb, Sulphur; Kathleen Higgins, Iowa; Chelsea Tademy, Lake Charles; Patrick Eustis, Lake Charles; Ja Hye Chai, Seoul, South Korea, and Ali Hay, Lake Charles.

The Grand and Abercrombie galleries are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Abercrombie Gallery is located in Room 125 of the Shearman Fine Arts Center, while the Grand Gallery is located at the entrance of the Shearman Fine Arts Annex.
