McNeese to Host Two Art Exhibits

(September 26, 2016) The McNeese State University Department of Visual Arts will host an opening reception for the annual faculty exhibition and the Student Art Association’s “Art Est Bon” from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, in the Grand Gallery of the Shearman Fine Arts Annex. The reception will coincide with the citywide Annual Gallery Promenade 2016. Pigs in the Farm House Series

The facultyScreen print titled "Blue Victorian" exhibit - on display through Dec. 8 in the Grand Gallery - features 45 recent works by McNeese visual arts faculty members through a variety of media including bookarts, ceramics, drawing, graphic design, illustration, mixed media, painting, photography and printmaking. 
        
Artists include Cynthia Baskin, Ken Baskin, Martin Bee, Jacob Dugas, Meghan Fleming, Heather Ryan Kelley, Cassandra Read, Lisa Reinauer, Lynn Reynolds, Larry Schuh, Lewis Temple, Samantha VanDeman and Gerry Wubben. 
        
The Student Art Association’s exhibit will be on view through Oct. 21 in the Abercrombie Gallery, Room 125 in the Shearman Fine Arts Center, and will feature recent work by visual arts majors.
        
Both galleries are open to the public from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday. For more information, call the visual arts department at 337-475-5060.
