McNeese Portfolio Day Scheduled for Art Students

The McNeese State University Department of Visual Arts will host High School Portfolio Day 2014 for junior and senior high school art students from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, Feb. 22, in the Abercrombie Gallery, located in Room 125 of the Shearman Fine Arts Center.  
    
Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. in Abercrombie and tours will be available for students, parents and teachers.
    
Students are also invited to bring their art portfolios of no more than 10 images and/or sketchbooks for visual arts faculty to review for award consideration. Students can pre-register to receive assigned review appointments by contacting event coordinator, Lisa Reinauer, by email at lreinauer@mcneese.edu.

Seniors receiving merit certificates will be recommended by the department to receive a Distinguished Achievement Award in Art, with awards ranging in value up to $500 if they enroll at McNeese in visual arts and meet eligibility guidelines.
