Murchison lecture set at McNeese

Lecture(October 2, 2015) The McNeese State University Department of Visual Arts will present a free lecture featuring Sandra Murchison as part of the Delores and Tommy Tuminello Lecture Series on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 6 p.m. in Room 113 of the Shearman Fine Arts Annex.

Murchison is a professor of studio art at Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss., where she teaches printmaking, painting, drawing and book arts. She is also the founder and director of Purple World Center for Book and Paper Arts in Jackson, which exhibits and teaches workshops on printmaking, book and paper arts.

She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in printmaking and painting at Alfred University in New York and her Master of Fine Arts in printmaking from Louisiana State University.

Murchison has shown her work in 60 national and international juried exhibitions and has won numerous awards for her teaching.
