McNeese State University professor of art, Heather Ryan Kelley, has recently had work accepted into two national exhibitions - one in New York and the other in Los Angeles.

Kelley's print, "Milagritos, will be included in the New York Society of Etchers Inc. First National Exhibition show housed in the National Arts Club in June. The exhibit was juried by Roberta Waddell, former curator of prints at the New York Public Library.

Kelley's artist book titled "Ninth Thunder: Cough in a Lecture" was selected by Mike McGee, gallery director and professor of art at Cal State Fullerton University, to be included in the Los Angeles Printmaking Society Exhibition June 4 -July 15.

Regionally, Kelley's painting, "Study After Aviary," was awarded a juror's mention in the 45th Annual Tom Peyton Memorial Arts Festival in Alexandria. Kelley also received a juror's mention for her engraving "1,001 Thoughts" in Land /Currents/ Undercurrents, the Ninth Annual Grand Isle Juried Exhibition.

Two McNeese State University art students have received Virginia Cook Visual Art Scholarships through a statewide competition sponsored by Creative Art Connection, a non-profit organization for artists founded in 1979 in Bossier City.

Mandy Milliron, a visual arts freshman from Iowa, and Pamela Jackson Taylor, a senior majoring in both art education and visual arts from Singer, each received a $600 scholarship from the art organization.
