The formation of TASC took place in 1997 when Dr. Robert Hebert, McNeese State University president, formed a technology task force to review the technology needs that faced the McNeese campus. These findings were assembled into a report and presented to then Student Government President Vera LeBrun and then Student Government Treasurer Anthony Eaves. They in turn presented it to the Student Government Association Senate in the fall of 1997. The SGA Senate then formed a seven member Student Technology Committee composed of mostly students and some faculty.
The newly formed Student Technology Committee formulated an additional proposal which they in turn presented to Dr. Hebert and his committee. The final results are evident today!
