Get Connected Day
Various student support departments and academic areas will host table setups in the New Ranch to meet new students, give information about the services they provide, and to answer general questions. Departments wanting to reserve a table should contact the Student Union & Activities Office at 337-475-5609 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.

McNeese Student Organizations Fair
The annual Howdy Rowdy Welcome Week Student Organizations Fair is a chance for students, faculty, and staff to become acquainted with our 120+ recognized student organizations. Organizations will be recruiting new members and sharing information about their plans for the new school year.

Welcome Back Wednesday, Wellness Wednesday & Meet the Greeks
Wednesday will break down into morning and evening activities:
9:00am – 12:00pm – New Ranch
- As a promo for the Pokefest Carnival that will take place later in the day, the Student Life Coalition will host free novelties provided by Special Ops Entertainment. Students will be able to make free take home novelties and pick up their wristbands for unlimited rides at the carnival.
- Student Health Services will coordinate a “Wellness Wednesday” program. In order to succeed in college (and in life), it is important to be WELL. There will be tables with information and resources on the following topics: academic health, sexual health, emotional health, nutritional health, and healthy alcohol consumption.
- McNeese’s 13 Greek-lettered organizations will set up table displays to distribute information about joining their groups or supporting their philanthropic efforts for the new academic year.
5:00pm - 9:00pm – POKEFEST Carnival: Memorial Gym Parking Lot
Student Government Association and Student Life Coalition will host the “Pokefest Carnival” in Memorial Gymnasium’s parking lot. The event will include rides, carnival games, music, and free food for students. This is an excellent opportunity for students to engage in a program that will encourage future campus involvement. Faculty/staff and guests can participate in carnival activities for a designated fee.
Thursday, August 25th / 9:00am – 12:30pm / New Ranch
Campus Ministry Day
McNeese’s many campus ministry student organizations and local churches in the McNeese area will be present in the New Ranch Atrium to distribute information to students about services they provide, joining their organizations and attending their worship services and meetings.
Friday, August 26th / 9:00am – 12:30pm / New Ranch
Local businesses & community service agencies in the McNeese area will have booths in the New Ranch Atrium to culminate Howdy Rowdy Welcome Week. Several businesses will be marketing their products and services, while others may be offering opportunities for part-time employment and internships for students. Free promotional items, samples, and prize drawings will be available at various booths.
