POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Graduate Assistant
Sports Medicine
McNeese State University is currently accepting applications for one (1) Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer position for the 2008 fall semester. The Graduate Assistant in the Department of Sports Medicine is a one-semester part-time position beginning August 4, 2008. This position includes a $4,500 stipend per semester and full tuition waiver. McNeese State University’s 16 intercollegiate sports compete at the NCAA Division I (Division I-AA football) level and are members of the Southland Conference.
Responsibilities: Include, but are not limited to: assisting athletic training staff with overall sports medicine care for 16 Division I athletic programs, and athletic training coverage and team travel with women’s basketball and other sports as determined by the Head Athletic Trainer. Other responsibilities include supervision of athletic training students, daily operation of athletic training facilities, and other duties assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer.
Qualifications: Successful candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in athletic training or other related field and must be accepted into the McNeese State University Graduate School. Applicants must be eligible for NATABOC certification upon application and must be certified by start date. Applicants must also hold CPR/First Aid/AED certification and be eligible for Louisiana state certification.
Salary: $4,500 per semester
Start Date: August 4, 2008
