MAAP (Midpoint Assessment of Academic Progress)

Every undergraduate student enrolled in a four-year degree program must take the Midpoint Assessment of Academic Progress examination. This examination should be taken as soon as possible after earning 48 semester hours and must be taken before earning 80 semester hours.

Exceptions The only student groups excused from the MAAP are:

  1. students transferring 48 hours or more semester hours
  2. students earning 80 semester hours prior to Fall 1991 semester
  3. students housed in penal institutions
  4. students enrolled in a two-year degree program which does not include MAAP as a degree requirement.

Students may schedule a MAAP test as they would any other course in the fall or spring semester. Registration information is available in the appropriate semester class schedule. There is no charge for registering for this exam and no credit hours will be awarded.

MAAP tests are usually administered in Parra Ballroom of the Student Union Building. Questions and appeals regarding the MAAP should be directed to the Testing Officer by calling 337-475-.5140 or by visiting the Office of Scholarships and Testing in Kaufman Hall Room 156.
