College Level Examination Program (CLEP)

McNeese State University is an official computer based test site for CLEP. Students may take CLEP exams to earn credit for specific courses. CLEP examinations cover material taught in courses that most students take as requirements in the first two years of college. A college usually grants the same amount of credit to students earning satisfactory scores on the CLEP examination as it grants to students successfully completing that course. Contact the Registrar’s Office for required minimum score, 337.475.5145. A listing of specific course equivalencies can be found below.

Students register through the Office of Scholarships and Testing or the CLEP website, by printing out and completing the Registration-Admission Form. Return all materials to the Office of Scholarships and Testing.

Currently, the CLEP costs $85.00 ($70 to CLEP and $15 to MSU). Effective July 1, 2009, The price for the CLEP test will increase to $87.00 ($72 for CLEP and $15 to MSU).

Testing occurs on Tuesdays and Thursday at 9:00am or 2:00pm.

CLEP is administered on the computer as a 90 minute exam, and therefore, score reports are available upon completion of the exam. Official results are mailed from CLEP directly to you and the institution you indicate at the time of the test.

You must wait 6 months before retaking the same CLEP exam.

CLEP Testing Schedule
