Advanced Placement in Mathematics
The Advanced Placement Tests in Mathematics are offered to entering freshmen who plan to enroll in 2013 and who desire advanced placement in and credit for certain mathematics courses. Advanced Placement Tests in mathematics are available in algebra, trigonometry, and analytic geometry. Each of the three examinations has a time limit of forty (40) minutes.

Preregistration for the sessions listed above is not required. There is no test fee for these exams.
A picture identification document is required for admission to the testing area. Two #2 pencils should also be taken to the test site.
Credit for examination results is awarded accordingly:
- Math 113, Intermediate College Algebra
If the student scores at or above the 67th percentile, but below the 93rd percentile on the Algebra test, three semester hours credit will be awarded for Math 113, Intermediate College Algebra. The student must get between 20 and 25 of the 40 items correct on the algebra test for the Math 113 credit. - Math 170, Precalculus College Algebra
If, on the algebra test, the student scores at or above the 93rd percentile, the student will be given three semester hours of credit for Math 170, Precalculus Algebra. The student must get at least 26 of the 40 items correct on the algebra test for Math 170 credit. - Math 175, Trigonometry and Analytic Geometry
If the student scores above the 66th percentile on the trigonometry test and also scores above the 67th percentile on the analytic geometry test, the student will be given three semester hours of credit for Math 175, Trigonometry and Analytic Geometry. The student must get at least 16 of the 40 items correct on the trigonometry test and 16 of the 35 items correct on the analytic geometry test to obtain credit for Math 175.
Advanced Mathematics Placement Tests results are sent to advisors in General and Basic Studies.
