2014 Spring Semester Free Nutritional Counseling Free nutritional counseling on campus provided by Master level dietetic interns is available to McNeese faculty, staff, & students.  Topics include weight loss, healthy lifestyle management, general sports nutrition, and education when disordered eating behaviors are present.  Doctor approval is needed for specialized diet such as a diabetic diet.  Call 475-5748 to schedule an appointment. Spring Exercise Classes Start!  Schedules are posted in the Rec Complex or can be found at www.mcneese.edu/rec. Classes will include Kickboxing, Body Sculpting, Yoga, Water Fitness, Circuits, & Cardio Blast. Rec Complex

Register for the New Weigh Well Challenge! Make a commitment for the New Year--Better choices, for a stronger, healthier you!  This challenge is for those wanting help to lose or maintain their weight.  The program will consist of weekly weigh-ins, weekly handouts on weight loss, and a support group.  Winners will be determined by a point challenge!  Earn points my making healthy choices.  For more info, contact Kelly Darbonne @ 475-5277 or spc-kdarbonne@mcneese.edu. Wear Red Day Workout Celebrate Wear Red Day by wearing red to work or join us for the Wear Red Workout!  Attend the circuit class held on the track at 12:15 for a heart pumping workout and pick up heart healthy info & recipes as we spread awareness about heart health. Rec's Indoor Track
February 2014 Blood Pressure Checks February is heart month.  Stop by the Wellness Program Office to get your blood pressure checked and learn ways to keep it under control.  Have a few people in your area wanting a blood pressure check?  Contact Kelly Darbonne to schedule blood pressure checks in your area. Register for the "40 Miles in 4 Weeks" Walking Challenge Your goal in this challenge is to walk 40 miles or more in 4 weeks!  The challenge kicks off on National Walking Day (April 2nd) and runs until May 2nd.  Participate on your own time!  Receive weekly tips, weekly newsletters, & a 4 week walking plan.  Those earning 40 miles or more will go into a drawing for a prize! Register in Wellness Program Office (Rec 212)
March 2014 Wellness to Go Program Our Wellness Program will be on the move this month in two locations:  Thursday, March 20th (10-11am) in Smith Hall Lounge and also on Thursday, March 20th (1-2pm) in the Library.  Get your blood pressure checked, play "Guess the Calories" game and pick up healthy recipes in honor of National Nutrition Month.
