Student Council and Appeal Procedures Policy

Student Council and Appeal Procedures Policy

Authority:
President
Date enacted or revised:
n/a

McNeese has established rules and regulations governing student conduct and due process procedures.  The Code of Student Conduct is distributed to all students at Orientation and is available to all students through the Office of Student Services and on the web.

A student may appeal to the Board of Supervisors if the sanction is one of suspension from the University for a period of one academic year, or if the sanction is of greater severity.  For appeals regarding less severe sanctions, the final appeal shall be at the University level.  If the student chooses to appeal to the Board of Supervisors after all administrative procedures have been exhausted at the institutional level, the appeal must be within 30 calendar days of the institution's decision.  Review by the President or by the Board of Supervisors is limited to a determination of compliance with established and appropriate procedures at the institutional level.  Neither the President nor the Board hear specifics of the case, but determine if appropriate procedures related to the case were followed at the institutional level.  The student shall be notified of the President's and /or the Board's decision.
