International Student Employment Policy
International students may work a total of 20 hours per week in aggregate on campus (40 hours per week during breaks). International students who have a graduate assistantship must factor the 15 hours required for the assistantship into the 20 hour total. Students may not use weekly averages, for example, 10 hours one week and 30 hours another. International student time sheets will be evaluated once a month by the Payroll Office. If a student goes over the hourly limit, a one-time warning will be sent from the Payroll Office to the supervisor and the student. Any further infractions will be forwarded to the International Student Affairs Office. Students should be aware that they will be o-of-status if they do not follow the weekly hour limits and may be denied any future F-1 benefits as a result.
