PURPOSE:

Compensate Police Officers who perform extraordinary/hazardous duties which are above and beyond their normal scope of duties. This special pay rate will not be included in base pay calculations.


EFFECTIVE DATE:

June 6, 2012

APPLICABILITY:

University Police Department for the following personnel in position titles:

  • Police Officer 2A
  • Police Sergeant A
  • Police Lieutenant A

SCOPE:

Premium pay will be granted for the following events:

  1. Homecoming week activities
  2. Graduation Ceremonies
  3. Home Football Games
  4. Facilities Use Agreements Events

RATE:

Premium Pay rate is flexible up to $15.81 per hour to ensure that the employee is paid $30 per hour for hours worked during these events. The maximum pay issued to employee for working these specific events will be $30.00 per hour for hours worked.


PROCEDURE:

A REQUEST FOR PREMIUM PAY will be submitted to Payroll bi-weekly for any event worked during the pay period. The REQUEST FOR PREMIUM PAY is a standard form which will contain:

  1. Date Worked
  2. Time of Day Worked
  3. Total Hours Worked
  4. Name and/or description of Event
