If You Hear An Alarm Sound
Evacuate the building immediately
Assist those with disabilities in evacuating as you are able
Do not use the elevators
Do not re-enter the building for any reason until being told it is safe to do so by university officials
If You Smell Smoke Or See Flames
Activate the nearest fire alarm
Evacuate the building immediately
Assist those with disabilities in evacuating as you are able
Be aware there may be flames in other parts of the building as well
If smoke is present, keep low to the floor
If you are unable to safely evacuate due to smoke or flames, move to an unaffected room as far from the fire as possible and close the door
Attempt to seal the cracks around the door with whatever is available (clothing, tape, toilet paper, etc.)
Report the fire and your location via 911
