Attempting to falsify commuter hang tags falls under the Student Conduct Code 3.15 " Forgery, alteration or misuse of any University document ".
If a student is found in possession of a misused decal the McNeese Police Department will do the following:
- Immobilize the vehicle.
- Issue citations for : M-2 Other (Misuse $50 violation), P-11 (Removal of immobilizer $25 charge), and others depending on the circumstances.
- Have the student pay all fines owed at Smith Hall.
- Notify Student Services so sanctions can be made.
- Notify the Student that his/her parking privileges have been revoked for the rest of their academic career.
- Issue a freshman decal punched for stadium parking.
The following are examples of misused decals:
- A student peels off a current valid parking renewal sticker and places it on another decal.
- A student in possession of a decal reported stolen or not registered.
- A student counterfeits a decal with a or color copier or scanner.
- Attempting to alter the appearance of a decal, either by coloring or changing the number (we've seen it all).
