McNeese Theatre Presents The Glass Menagerie

The Glass Menagerie poster(November 11, 2013) The McNeese State University Theatre Bayou Players will bring Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Tennessee William's classic play, "The Glass Menagerie," to the stage at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13-16, with a 2 p.m. matinee Nov. 17, in Ralph Squires Recital Hall in the Shearman Fine Arts Center.
"The Glass Menagerie" is about Tom Wingfield reliving how he, his mother, Amanda, his sister, Laura, and friend, Jim O'Conner, try to overcome their difficulty in accepting and relating to reality by hiding from it - each creating their own personal reality that is as fragile as the small, glass figurine that gives the play its name.

Brook Hanemann Swire will direct this production with a vision of "wiping the dust off" this play by showing how the characters are connected to Williams, his family and families today.
Cast members and their parts include: Jonathon Richards, DeRidder, Tom Wingfield; Dianne Caponi, Lake Charles, Amanda Wingfield; Adrianne Parker, Lake Charles, Laura Wingfield; and Chris Reeves, DeRidder, Jim O'Conner.
