The program includes works by Rachmaninoff, Liszt and Villa-Lobos.
A native of Russia, Dossin received his Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Texas at Austin and his Master of Fine Arts from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Russia.
A prizewinner in several international piano competitions, Dossin has received the first prize and the special prize at the Martha Argerich International Piano Competition in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the silver medal and second honorable mention in the Maria Callas Grand Prix and third prize and special prize in the Mozart International Piano Competition.
Dossin has performed in over 20 countries, has released numerous CDs and is also an editor and recording artist for Schirmer Performance Editions series.
Critics have called Dossin a "wonderful pianist," "master of contrasts," "master of expressiveness" and "a stunning pianist with a symbiotic relationship with the instrument."
His performance is in conjunction with the 61st Louisiana Music Teachers Association convention Thursday-Friday, Oct. 10-11.
