McNeese Senior Clarinet Recital Set

(April 20, 2017) The McNeese State University Department of Performing Arts will present a free senior clarinet recital by Thomas Logan of Eunice at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, in Tritico Theatre in the Shearman Fine Arts Annex. Thomas Logan

Logan, a music performance major, will perform the works of a variety of composers: “Clarinet Sonata No. 2 in E flat” by Johannes Brahms; “Clarinet Concerto” by Wolfgang Mozart; “Monologue for Clarinet” by Ernst Krenek; "Shepherd on the Rock” by Franz Schubert; and an arrangement of "Amazing Grace" performed in memory of Logan's grandmother, Carol Hollier.

He will be accompanied by Dr. Lina Morita on piano and assisted by Emmie Lancon, soprano, and by Jamie Beaulieu and Taylor Moore on clarinet.

At McNeese, Logan has participated in various music ensembles such as the Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, the Pride of McNeese Marching Band, Concert Chorale, Men's Vocal Ensemble and Clarinet Choir. He has been a performer with the McNeese Color Guard and McNeese Blue Winter Guard and he was also selected to perform in the 2013 and 2017 sessions of the Louisiana Intercollegiate Honor Band.

Logan is a graduate of Iota High School.
