McNeese Senior Bassoon Recital

(March 20, 2017) The McNeese State University Department of Performing Arts will present a free senior bassoon recital by Dallas Lauderdale of Lake Charles at 7 p.m. Monday, March 20, in Tritico Theatre in the Shearman Fine Arts Annex. Dallas Lauderdale

Lauderdale, a music performance major, will perform the works of a variety of composers: Vivaldi’s Concerto for Bassoon in E Minor, Mozart’s Bassoon Concerto in Bb Major, Saint-Saëns’ Sonata for Bassoon, Monolog 5 by Erland von Koch and an arrangement by Lauderdale of the traditional Scottish tune "My Bonnie."

She will be accompanied by Dr. Lina Morita on piano and assisted on clarinet by Jamie Beaulieu and Taylor Moore.

At McNeese, Lauderdale has participated in various music ensembles such as the Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, The Pride of McNeese Marching Band, Chamber Singers, Women's Vocal Ensemble, Clarinet Choir, Saxophone Ensemble and the upcoming instrumental ensemble for "Kiss Me Kate." She was also selected to perform in the 2013 and 2017 sessions of the Louisiana Intercollegiate Honor Band.
