McNeese to Host Faculty/Guest Recital


(March 18, 2015) The McNeese State University Performing Arts Department will host a free faculty/guest recital with Judy Hand on flute and Jay Kacherski on guitar at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, in Tritico Theatre.

The program will include works by Steven Marsh, Mauro Giuliani, Ian Krouse, Maximo Diego Pujol and Robert Beaser.

An associate professor of music at McNeese, Hand teaches flute, chamber music, music history, ear training and class piano. She holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in flute performance from Louisiana State University.

Kacherski, a national solo and ensemble guitarist, received his doctorate in musical arts in classical guitar performance from the University of Texas at Austin. He is currently a contributing editor for Soundboard Magazine and a visiting lecturer at McNeese.
