McNeese Sets Orientation Sessions

McNeese Sets Orientation Sessions

(May 12, 2014) Five orientation sessions are offered this summer for incoming freshmen for the 2014 fall semester at McNeese State University.

All first-time freshmen are required to attend a one-day orientation, which includes a campus tour, skits from McNeese Blue and Gold Peerleaders and information about the first year of college.

The orientations will be held from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. May 21, June 4, June 13, June 26 and July 9 in F.G. Bulber Auditorium. Students must register in advance for the orientation date they plan to attend.

"Orientation introduces students to the university," stated Karen Westfall, coordinator of freshman orientation and academic adviser in the McNeese Department of General and Basic Studies.

"Through orientation, students become familiar with the campus, learn more about their academic major and meet new and current students," said Westfall. "Orientation allows our new students to be more prepared for their first day on this campus."

For more information, call the Department of General and Basic Studies at 475-5135 or 1-800-622-3352, ext. 5135.
