A Rattler's Blood

There once was a time, the world, she was mine,
But I used and abused her, she left me behind.

Days turned to weeks, and months turned to years,
It took all that I had to hold back the tears.

I knew in my heart that God had a plan,
Somewhere in this world was a place for this man.

I enrolled at McNeese, a place now called home,
No more in my life would I need to roam.

With the Lord at my side, I was back on my feet,
But my life as it was, was still not complete.

I searched and I hunted, I begged and I pleaded,
But I just couldn't find the things that I needed.

Through a strange twist of fate, we all came together,
Our common desire, to be friends forever.

We kicked down the doors, we dealt with the strife,
The oath that we took,
Theta Chi For Life.

One true Brotherhood amongst all the rest,
One creed in my heart, our badge on my chest.

Coiled snake forms the Theta, Crossed swords form the Chi,
A precious red ruby is set for the eye.

We may fight, we may argue, we may stumble and fall,
But
Men Since '56 shall prevail above all.

Truth, Temperance, and Tolerance; the ideas we live by,
Under stadium lights, our spirits will fly.

Our members unique, we fit no known mold,
Diverse and respected, high standards we hold.

Extend a Helping Hand, our commitment for life,
May we all remain true to dear Theta Chi.
