Both the Grand Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity and the Theta Rho Chapter at McNeese State University strongly believe that hazing is one of the most damaging instruments to the fraternity system. This unproductive, ridiculous, and hazardous custom has no rightful place in the fraternity system.

New members are treated with respect and are never asked or required to do anything unbecoming of a true gentleman.

Examples of Hazing Activities Prohibited by Theta Chi Fraternity:

  • Forced or coerced consumption of alcohol or food.
  • Calisthenics or physical stunts.
  • Paddling, striking, or any form of physical abuse.
  • Being required to carry items.
  • Sleep deprivation.
  • Any form of "line up."
  • Acts of personal servitude.
  • Pranks that break the law or which reflect poorly upon the chapter.
  • Verbal harassment.
  • Requiring inappropriate or uncomfortable dress.
  • Kidnaps, "ditches," or transportation with no viable purpose.
  • Duties not shared with all brothers such as cleaning house, answering the phone, giving rides, etc.
  • Preventing use of any public area of the house.
  • Individual interrogations inconsistent with education.
  • Requiring the use of certain forms of address or greetings to members, or when answering the phone.

These are only a few examples of hazing. If any brother physically or mentally harms you in any way, please immediately notify the Marshal, the President, or any other brother in Theta Chi Fraternity. Any acts of hazing will NOT be tolerated.
