Welcome to Theta Chi

The Brothers of the Theta Rho Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity welcome you to our web page. The Greek community at McNeese State University consists of six national male fraternities and six national female sororities. The Greek system is the gateway to a successful college experience. Greek life increases your social skills while enhancing your scholastic abilities. Statistically, Greek organizations increase your chances of graduating, and in the job market, alumni of Greek organizations are sought after for their leadership abilities and their organizational experience.

Theta Chi Society, as it was then known, was founded at Norwich University at Norwich, Vermont, at 9:00p.m. Thursday, April 10, 1856.  Theta Chi Fraternity ranks twelfth in initiated members among sixty-two national fraternities. Theta Chi has established 210 chapters located in the United States and Canada. Over 147,330 men have joined the fraternity since its conception. In Louisiana, Theta Chi has active chapters at Northwestern State University, Centenary, and a colony at Southeastern Louisiana University.

Theta Chi Fraternity established the Theta Rho Chapter at McNeese State University on April 24, 1993. Theta Rho has carried on the rich traditions and ideals of Theta Chi Fraternity. Theta Rho has established itself in the community by upholding Theta Chi's motto of "the Helping Hand." Theta Rho's civic duties include highway cleanups and Fool's Regatta, an annual philanthropy for Big Brothers and Big Sisters, to name a few. Theta Rho makes a dominating presence at all MSU sporting events and participates in all MSU intramural events. Theta Rho has unlimited leadership opportunities, and helps promote study skills and time management. Theta Rho has increased its Grade Point Average six-tenths of a point in just the last two years. Our current overall GPA is 2.93, which is well above the average among men at MSU. We at Theta Chi have the opportunity to assist you in your college experience.

After college, your fraternal experience will not end. Our alumni have a corporation as well as an association that will further help you adjust to life away from school. The Theta Rho Chapter Alumni Association is open to all initiated members who are not in school. This group is a vital link between the active chapter and the job market as well as many prominent people of the community. Plus the gained knowledge and experience generated from older members can greatly help us, the active chapter, strive toward the goals for which this great fraternity stands.
