Sigma Alpha Iota is an organization for women dedicated to excellence in music. SAI college chapters are the foundation of the fraternity; chapter members support and encourage each other and cooperate to make the chapter an asset to the department and to the university. SAI alumnae chapters continue the work of the fraternity reaching out into the community to share their commitment to music.

The
National Executive Board directs the policy of the fraternity, transacts fraternity business, and with other members of the National Officers Conference, guides the efforts and activities of the college and alumnae chapters.

SAI Philanthropies, Inc. inspires all members to reach for excellence, offering support for projects to chapters, grants, scholarships, loans to individuals, and opportunities for everyone to participate in the exciting work of the fraternity.

Besides countless projects all over the United States,
SAI is involved with music worldwide. Among the countries which have been aided through SAI (People-to People) are China, Kenya, Zaire, the Phillipines, Romania, Brazil, Haiti, Honduras, El Salvador, Belize, Sri Lanka, Sierra Leone, Costa Rica, Gambia, Iraq, and Israel. SAI truly is an international Music Fraternity.

What does SAI Mean?

SAI membership means a lifetime of growth -both individually and as a part of an ever-expanding music community.

SAI means friends you've never met all over this country and abroad as well.

SAI means being able to use your time and talent in whatever direction your creativity leads you, and having the support to reach your goal.

SAI means responsibility: to represent the fraternity at its best, and your best at all times; to participate fully in the life of the chapter; to strive for excellence in all things; and most especially, to create music with love and joy .
