There are a variety of scholarships available to members of Alpha Delta Pi through the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation, Inc. Scholarships are available for undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education studies. Some scholarships are awarded to members of specific chapters or states, while others are awarded for specific areas of studies. The majority of scholarships are available to any member, in good standing, of the sorority.

The Van Akin Resident Counselor Scholarships also are handled by the Foundation. These scholarships are awarded to new graduates who work with collegiate chapter while attending graduate school.

Sample scholarship applications forms are sent to each chapter Scholarship Chairman in the fall. It is the responsibility of the Scholarship Chairman to distribute the forms. Scholarship applications and information also are available from the Foundation Coordinator at Executive Office. The exact deadline for applications varies, but it is usually in the Spring.

Scholarships are awarded on the basis:

  • Academic achievement
  • Need
  • Chapter and campus activities
  • Emergency Grants
The Abigail Davis Emergency Grants are available at any time during the year to members who have an emergency situation. The grants, up to $500, are awarded upon receipt of a completed application to members who "would otherwise have to withdraw from school."

Examples of situations which are considered emergencies include:

  • Serious illness/accident of supporting parent(s) which means loss of income.
  • Loss of employment of supporting parent
  • Divorce of parents
  • Withdrawal of parental support
