Priority of Admissions
BSN Fall
Purpose: To ensure a diverse and qualified pool of students are admitted each semester to clinical nursing courses. Students will be ranked according to the following categories:

Category I- Generic MSU student w/ 0 pre-requisite hours from another university and completing all prerequisites by May (also includes any student w/an Associate, Bachelor and/or Master’s degree from MSU)

Category II – Student transferring in 12 or less pre-requisite hours from another university and completing all pre-requisites by May.

Category III – Transfer student transferring in more than 12 pre-requisite hours from another university, establishing residency w/ the minimum of 12 hours at MSU, and completing all pre-requisites by May.

Category IV- Generic MSU student w/ 0 pre-requisite hours from another university and completing all pre-requisites by August (also includes any student w/an Associate, Bachelor and/or Master’s degree from MSU)

Category V– Student with 12 or less pre-requisite hours from another University and completing all pre-requisites by August.
- Category VI – Transfer student transferring in more than 12 pre-requisite hours, establishing residency w/ the minimum of 12 hours at MSU, and completing all pre-requisites by August.

Category VII – Transfer student with 0-11 hours at MSU and completing all pre-requisites by May.

Category VIII – Transfer student with 0-11 credit hours at MSU and completing pre-requisites by August.
ADN/BSN Spring

Category I- Generic ADN/BSN MSU student w/ 0 pre-requisite hours from another university and completing all prerequisites by December. (also includes any student w/an Associate, Bachelor and/or Master’s degree from MSU)

Category II

ADN student transferring in 9 or less pre-requisite hours from another university and completing all pre-requisites by December.

BSN student transferring in 12 or less pre-requisite hours from another university and completing all pre-requisites by December.

Category III
-
ADN transfer student transferring in more than 9 pre-requisite hours from another university, establishing residency w/ the minimum of 9 hours at MSU, and completing pre-requisites by December.

BSN transfer student transferring in more than 12 pre-requisite hours from another university, establishing residency w/ the minimum of 12 hours at MSU, and completing pre-requisites by December.

-
ADN transfer student with 0-8 hours at MSU and completing pre-requisites by December.

BSN transfer student with 0-11 hours at MSU and completing pre-requisites by December.

Credit that a dual enrolled or early admissions high school student earns prior to enrolling at McNeese will not be counted as transfer credit(s) in regards to priority of admissions.
