First Federal Bank of Louisiana has donated $5,000 to McNeese State University through the McNeese Foundation for the First Federal Bank of Louisiana Scholarship.

Students can still register for the regular summer 2017 session at McNeese State University online or with their faculty adviser during late registration June 9-13.

McNeese State University’s radio station KBYS 88.3 FM offers a popular weekly rock ‘n’ roll program called “School of Rock” at 11 a.m. on Saturdays. The weekly radio show - hosted by Dr. Ray Miles, McNeese history professor and director of the Doré School of Graduate Studies, and Dr. Jeff Lemke, professor of music is focused on bringing music appreciation and education to a wide audience. Miles stresses that the show is meant to be both informative and fun. “We both love what is broadly called rock n’ roll music, but we approach it from different directions,” he says. “If you understand the question ‘Beatles or Rolling Stones?’ then I am Rolling Stones and Dr. Lemke is Beatles!” Repeat broadcasts of the show are available at 4 p.m. on Sundays and 11 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education seal
The McNeese State University College of Nursing and Health Professions’ baccalaureate nursing degree program has been granted continuing accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

The McNeese State University Honor Roll for the 2017 spring semester has been announced. The honor roll lists undergraduate students earning at least a 3.0 or B average while carrying 12 or more semester hours.

The President’s Honor List for the spring 2017 semester at McNeese State University has been announced. To be on the President’s Honor List, an undergraduate student must earn at least a 3.5 grade point average or better while carrying at least 15 semester hours. A senior eligible for graduation but carrying less than 15 hours is also provided that student was on the President’s Honor List the previous semester.

Barbara and DePorres Cormier, both McNeese State University graduates living at Stone Mountain, Ga., have donated $5,000 through the McNeese Foundation to the Melvin J. and Theresa Cormier Sr. Scholarship

Thirty-six McNeese State University students received the Summa Cum Laude (3.90-4.00) designation in spring commencement ceremonies held Saturday, May 13, at Burton Coliseum.

A social media workshop for small businesses will be offered from 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, on the second floor of the SEED Center at McNeese State University.
