The McNeese Department of Performing Arts will present the Fall Band Spectacular Concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21 in the Shearman Fine Arts Performing Arts Theatre.

Registration for McNeese State University’s spring 2015 semester is currently underway through Jan. 12. Spring classes begin Tuesday, Jan. 20.

The SAGE lecture series at McNeese will present a lecture by chef Marcelle Bienvenu titled “The Seven Nations’ Contributions to Creole/Cajun Cuisine” from 3-4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24.

The McNeese Department of Performing Arts will present Christy McClain in a free violin senior recital at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church.

Westlake Chemical has donated $5,000 to the McNeese State University College of Engineering for the college’s engineering endowment campaign.

The Market Basket Foundation presented a $10,000 donation to McNeese State University through the McNeese Foundation for the Market Basket Academic Scholarship.

The McNeese State University Theatre Bayou Players will conclude the fall theatre season with a production of Martin McDonagh’s play, “The Lieutenant of Inishmore,” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 12-15, with a 2 p.m. matinee Nov. 16.

Iowa residents Joe and Lucille Foreman donated $15,000 through the McNeese Foundation to establish the Asa Joseph “Joe” and Lucille B. Foreman Scholarship.

The McNeese State University women’s rodeo team took first place while the men’s rodeo team took third place in the recent 60th annual McNeese Rodeo competition.

Fiction writer Aurelie Sheehan will give a reading from her works, including her new collection of stories - “Demigods on Speedway” - at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8.
